It may just be a coincidence or perhaps even fate, but something was drawing me to Italy and it wasn’t just Venice.
Sara Battaglia might be Giovanna Battaglia’s little sister (Editor in chief of Italian W mag and more infamously credited as being one of the worlds most papped street style stars) but she is also in my lil old opinion ‘one to watch’. Â Now rounding out her 6th season in the industry as a designer, I’m sure that not the only one infatuated by her magnetism towards a strong shoulder, geometrical silhouettes and a love for tailoring.. and I have Matches Fashion to thank for that introduction.
Her collections for me are a cross between classic suiting.. think Annie Hall double plaid ensembles, mixed in with a pinch of 80’s glam and the occasional pyramid sleeve thrown in for good measure. Â For me these are just the right ingredients to bake the kind of cake that I’m happy to devour .. let’s skip main coarse and head straight for desert .. x
